Grambling State is set to hire Elizabeth City State’s Shawn Walker as its next men’s basketball coach, reports say.
Walker spent the last dozen seasons at Division II Elizabeth City State, and will take over for second-year head coach Joseph Price,who was fired at the end of the 2013-14 season.
Walker takes over a basketball program that only has won five games in their last 57 outings, including going 0-28 in 2013.
He was voted the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2008 after leading ECSU to its first 20-win season in nearly a decade.
Walker previously served as the head coach at Voorhees College and was a graduate assistant at Slippery Rock.
