How does Jackson State go about improving on a defense that was a big part in them reaching the SWAC championship game in 2013?
Move one of their best defensive players to his natural position in 2014.
Javancy Jones took most of his snaps last year at defensive end, and all he did was win SWAC Freshman of the Year honors.
Jones, who is expected to move to outside linebacker this year, recorded 54 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and pickup five sacks.
The Jerry Rice Award and FCS Freshman of the Year nominee will look to be one of the anchors of a young defense after the unit lost Todd Wilcher, Armon Carter and Cedric Hogan upfront.
