Representatives from Southern are scheduled to meet will NCAA officials today in an attempt to have it’s postseason ban lifted.
Several high-ranking school officials, including athletic director William Broussard, are appearing before the NCAA Committee on Academic Performance in Indianapolis for a hearing to discuss data concerns that has impacted the school.
Broussard said the committee will deliberate over more than 400 pages of documentation, and he expects a ruling the first week of July.
The NCAA said it wants to learn how Southern will move forward in providing accurate academic data.
The issue focuses on the NCAA’s request for data from Southern which would detail the academic progress of its student athletes dating back to the 2009-10 academic year. It’s a process that’s even required Southern to provide information on student athletes in some cases as far back as 2003.
