Jeanette Jackson scored 22 points and LaReahn Washington scored 20 points to help the No. 4 seed Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers win their fourth consecutive SWAC tournament championship by defeating the Texas Southern Lady Tigers 63-58 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

The second-seeded Lady Tigers had 2 players score in double-figures with SWAC Player of the Year Jazzmin Parker accounting for 20 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field and Alexus Johnson, who fouled out of the game late in the second half, scoring 16 points.

A 3-pointer made by Parker put the Lady Tigers ahead 51-50 with 6:05 left in the game, but 2 made free throws and then another layup by Prairie View’s Jackson secured the lead for good for the Lady Panthers.

Jackson was named tournament MVP.  The Lady Panthers (14-17) will be the SWAC representative in the NCAA women’s tournament.   Their first round opponent will be revealed on Sunday.
