Former Alabama State running back Isaiah Crowell was statistically impressive on the field in his two years in Montgomery.
But not everyone is sold on his NFL potential.
In 12 games last season at Alabama State, Crowell rushed for 1,126 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Crowell transferred to Alabama State from Georgia after his freshman season, where he earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year in 2012.
He parlayed that into an invite to the NFL Combine, where he ran a 4.50 in the 40-yard dash.
Even though the one-time SEC standout was solid in workouts in front of a host of NFL scouts, GMs and team representatives in Indianapolis, one draft analysts is concerned about Crowell’s “baggage.”
Here are a series of tweets from NFLDraftScout.com analyst Dane Brugler expressing his concern over Crowell’s character and attitude.
A perplexing prospect because Crowell’s on-field ability suggests impact NFL starter w/ dynamic ability. But the baggage is a wildcard

The more I dig on RB Isaiah Crowell, the more I love his on-field ability and the less I love his football character and general attitude

It wouldn’t shock me if Crowell is one of the first RBs drafted as early as 2nd rnd. But it also wouldn’t be a shock if he fell to late rnds
