(Marion, IN) The women’s 4×100 Meter Relay Team for Dillard University qualified for Saturday’s final after finishing second in their heat with a time of 47.67 in Marion, Indiana at the 33rd Annual NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. The team is comprised of senior Jonquil Griffin and juniors Courtney Henry, Mo’Nique Waiters (alternate), Destinee Showell and sophomore LaQuanda James.
On Saturday, May 25, the team has a chance to officially become the top relay team in the country as they partake in the final at 2:40 p.m.
On Thursday, the men’s 4×100 Meter Relay Team finished fourth in their heat with a time of 41.95, just missing the mark for Saturday’s final. The team consisted of sophomore Tobyus Simmons, Kermit Buggage and juniors Wendell Collins and Matt Jones.
This year the NAIA is broadcasting all eight spring national championships. These broadcasts will offer fans a live video and audio stream. All eight spring events are available for the first time in the 76-year national championship history of the NAIA.
