The Southwestern Athletic Conference has launched the SWAC Digital Network, accessible at www.swac.org! The next generation of live streaming of athletic contests involving SWAC member institutions is now available.
The Conference is entering its fourth year of web streaming athletic contests, and this investment in improved quality, re-branding and launch of the Digital Network is another step in moving the SWAC into the future.
Although the SWAC is upgrading to the Digital Network, all events will remain free for fans. The events will also feature improved quality with events streaming in high definition (HD). The streams will be available on any computer or tablet with Flash capabilities.
“We really want this to be a showcase for what’s going on within our great Conference,” said SWAC Commissioner Duer Sharp “As the Conference continues to grow and advance, it is imperative to keep all communication outlets updated as well. The opportunities for the SWAC Digital Network are endless and we expect the network to continue to grow and evolve over time. SWAC is happy to support and highlight the student-athletes and give fans, students and alumni an opportunity to view all great events happening within the SWAC Conference.”
The streaming efforts will concentrate on men’s and women’s basketball, with a select list of games airing on the platform. Plans are also in the works for adding football and other SWAC Championship events to the lineup in the near future.
The first basketball doubleheader is on Sunday, Jan. 6 with Texas Southern visiting rival Prairie View A&M. Then on Monday, Feb. 4, Jackson State will be in Baton Rouge to take on Southern. On Saturday, Feb. 9, bitter rivals Alabama A&M and Alabama State clash in Montgomery in the third doubleheader on the SDN schedule. On date four, Grambling travels to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, Feb. 23, and then the SDN slate wraps up on Saturday, March 2 with Southern heading to the Lone Star State to tangle with Prairie View.
