Houston, TX- Benjamin Anderson threw for four touchdowns, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff returned two interceptions for scores in a 49-3 victory against Texas Southern on Saturday.
With the win, the Golden Lions clinched the Western Division and punched a ticket to the SWAC Championship game on Dec. 8 in Birmingham.
Anderson was 12 of 21 for 265 yards and an interception for the Golden Lions (7-2, 6-1 Southwestern Athletic). Ladarius Eckwood caught two of the touchdown tosses and finished with 107 yards on four receptions.
The Tigers (2-7, 2-5) were held to 135 yards of offense. In the third quarter, linebacker Bill Ross intercepted Justice Jones’ pass and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. Later in the quarter, safety Ryan Shaw had a 47-yard interception return to make the score 42-3.
