Jackson State alumnus Michael Tinsley earned a silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles of the 2012 Summer Olympics games in London on Monday.
Tinsley finished the race with a personal best of 47.91 seconds and credits his time at Jackson State for contributing to his success.
“I remember all the support I got from the faculty when I was there,” he said. “JSU gave me an opportunity to get an education and to do what I love to do, which is run track.”
