Grambling, LA — Grambling State University, 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference Champions, released today the 2012 Tiger’s football schedule. The schedule will offer plenty of excitement for Tiger fans as it boasts four home games and two classics.

Grambling will open their season September 1st with their third Port City Classic appearance, when they will face Alcorn State in Shreveport, LA in a 6 PM kick-off.  The Tigers travel west for a first time trip to Fort Worth, TX to take on the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University(September 8th, 6:00 PM). GSU will serve as TCU’s home (season) opener; before they return home to face Alabama State in the first game of the season in Robinson Stadium. This game will also serve as High School Day.  The G-Men will hit the road to Huntsville, AL to face the Bulldogs of Alabama A & M (September 29th, 6:00 PM).

October will once again bring the annual State Fair Classic in Dallas when the Tigers battle the Prairie View A & M Panthers (October 6th, 6:00 PM).  Grambling will remain on the road as they travel to Itta Bena, MS to take on Mississippi Valley State University on October 13th at 2 PM.  Homecoming falls on October 20th (2:00 PM) as the Dragons of Virginia University @ Lynchburg travels to Robinson Stadium. October wraps in Houston, TX with a road trip to Texas Southern (October 27th, 6:00 PM).

As the season wounds down the month of November will offer a full slate as Grambling hosts their Eastern conference foe, Jackson State (November 3rd, 2:00 PM).  The Tigers will remain at Robinson Stadium for their home finale’ against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (November 10th, 2:00 PM) before rounding out the season against Southern in the XXXIX State Farm Bayou Classic (November 24th, 1:00 PM).  The 2012 Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship is scheduled for December 8th at 1 PM.
