ITTA BENA — The Mississippi Valley State women’s basketball team will begin postseason play Thursday when the Devilettes travel to Tulane to face the Green Wave in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at the Fogelman Arena in New Orleans.
Tickets to Thursday’s game can be purchased through the Tulane Athletics Tickets Office. General admission and floor seats are available for $8 and $16, respectively. Tickets can be purchased in person, by telephone at (504) 861-WAVE (9283), or at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
MVSU (18-13, 14-4 SWAC), the regular season conference champions, will face the Green Wave for the first time in school history.
Tulane (22-10) finished third in the Conference USA regular season standings with a 9-7 mark in league play.
The winner of the matchup will advance to take on the winner of the Texas Tech/Eastern Illinois game.
This season, the Devilettes won the regular season title for the second time in school history. MVSU last won the regular season championship during the 1987-88 season.
