The Heritage Sports Radio Network is mourning the loss of its Director of Communications, Lecounte Conaway. Conaway, 61, passed away in his sleep Monday night while on the road for the network’s coverage of the Florida Classic.
Conaway had served as the network’s communications director for the past 3 1/2 years, assisting in producing game broadcasts, publishing press releases and managing the company’s website, HSRN.com. He also served as a member of one of the network’s Game of the Week broadcast crews.
Prior to joining HSRN, Conaway served as Assistant Athletics Director for Media relations at Delaware State University.
During his career, the 1977 Shaw University graduate also worked in athletics communications at his alma mater, Norfolk State University, Hampton University, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
