SWAC Men’s Basketball Players Of The Week – (Jan 4-10)

The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its men’s basketball players of the week for games played January 4-10.

Player of the Week

D’Angelo Jackson – G, Mississippi Valley State (6-1, 170, Sr., Milwaukee, Wisc.) Jackson averaged 19.3 points per game and 5.3 assists per game, and shot 53.8 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from behind the three-point arc in leading the Delta Devils to a 2-1 record during the opening week of conference play. During the week’s span of games, he ranked 2^nd in the SWAC in scoring, led the league in assists, was 2^nd in three-point field goal percentage, and was 10^th overall in steals at 1.7 per game.

Newcomer of the Week

Kevin Galloway – G, Texas Southern (6-7, 215, Sr., Sacramento, Calif.) Galloway averaged 12.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.0 steals in leading the Tigers to a perfect 3-0 start to the SWAC season this week. Galloway leads the SWAC and is 7^th in the nation in assists per game at 6.4 for the season. He recorded a season-high 13 rebounds in the overtime victory at Southern. For the season, Galloway currently ranks 9^th in the SWAC in scoring, 1^st in assists, 2^nd in rebounding, 2^nd in steals, and 8^th in blocked shots.
