Senior safety Eugene Clifford has added another accolade to his career at Tennessee State University. This time he has been named to the prestigious Walter Camp Foundation FCS All-American team.
Clifford, a 6-2, 205 lb safety from Cincinnati, Ohio was recently named to his third All-Ohio Valley football team since arriving at TSU in 2008. In his senior season he finished with 83 tackles, four interceptions, 10 pass breakups and 14 pass deflections in 11 games (that ranked him 10th nationally in passes defended at 1.27/game).
In his three years at Tennessee State, Clifford has recorded 204 tackles (120 solo), nine interceptions, 26 passes defended, 35 pass breakups, four fumbles recovered, three forced fumbles and 272 All-Purpose yards (197 intc return yards).
Clifford is a national finalist for the Sports Network’s FCS Buck Buchanan Award, emblematic of the Top Defensive player in the NCAA’s FCS division of football.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation 2010 Football Championship Subdivision All-America team was selected by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Football Championship Subdivision schools and certified by the accounting and auditing firm, Marcum LLP.
