Grambling, LA—The Grambling State Lady Tigers Volleyball team, six-time defending Southwestern Athletic Conference western division champions, reported to campus today as the Lady Tigers prepare to begin preseason training.
Twelve Lady Tigers reported as they completed registration and got situated with housing as well as took care of insurance and medical records. They assembled for their first team meeting and discussed being a scholar-athlete at Grambling, academics, expectations of the team and the whole outlook of the season.
“The girls are very, very positive and excited about being here, and that’s from the incoming freshman to the returning upperclassmen, said Interim Head Coach Demetria Keys-Johnson”. “We’re excited about getting started. I’m eager to see how much the girls worked out over the summer and what kind of shape they are in. My goal is to look for mental focus in the girls and try and bring that out of them during this preseason.”
