IRONDALE, AL – With a win over Alabama State on Saturday, Mississippi Valley State clinched a spot in the Championship game for the seventh consecutive year.
Alcorn State went 2-0 on Saturday and will play Grambling State for a third time in the tournament on Sunday to see who gets a place in the Championship game at 1:00 p.m.
Alabama State, Jackson State and Southern were all eliminated from the tournament on Saturday.

GAME 9: ALABAMA STATE- 5, SOUTHERN – 4: In a game that took eight innings to decide, Alabama State edged Southern 5-4 to stay alive in the championship tourney.
Ayesha Famble, Mercedes Frazier and Ariel Gainey each recorded two hits for the Lady Hornets while Frazier drove in four runs and hoisted two homers.
Victoria Stewart and Jasmone Williams each went 2-for-4 to lead the Jaguars.
GAME 10: ALCORN STATE – 6, JACKSON STATE – 3: Alcorn State scored three runs at the top of the ninth inning to overcome Jackson State 6-3 and extend its tournament stay.
Seven different batters recorded a hit for the Lady Braves including a single by Adriana Harrington that brought home two runs in the ninth to help secure the win.
Tynetta Sims was 3-for-3 including a homer to lead J-State, who is eliminated from the tournament.
GAME 11: MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ST – 8, ALABAMA STATE – 0: After a scoreless first five innings, Mississippi Valley State nabbed two runs in the fifth followed by six in the sixth inning to claim an 8-0 win over Alabama State and a spot in the championship game.
Alexandria Robertson was 3-for-4, while five other batters put up multiple hits for the Devilettes in the victory.
GAME 12: ALCORN STATE – 13, GRAMBLING STATE – 1: Alcorn State scored 10 runs in the second inning to help propel themselves to a 13-1 win over Grambling State and a chance to play in the championship game.
Christina Garcia, Jasmine Hubbard, Jasmine Hall and Rachel Morris each recorded a homer for the Lady Braves while Adriana Harrington was 3-for-4 in the win.
The two teams will face each other again at 9 a.m. on Sunday to determine who plays for the tournament title.
