Gabrielle Rosigi scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures as #5 Texas Southern beat #4 Grambling State 63-67 in a women’s quarterfinal of the Farmers Insurance SWAC Tournament.
Texas Southern (13-14) advances to Friday night’s semifinal vs. #1 Southern. Grambling State’s season ends at 12-17.
Trailing 12-7, Texas Southern went on a 20-4 run to take its largest lead of the half, 29-18 with 3:45 to play in the first half. Texas Southern would not trail again, maintaining a double-digit lead most of the final 20 minutes.
Nadosha Strickland and Trikeyia East each scored 11 points and Jasmine Cannon 10 for Texas Southern.
Grambling State was led by Secrett Anderson’s 11 points and 12 rebounds. Wymeka Randle added 10 off the bench.
