Tramayne Moorer’s game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds led Alabama State to a 56-45 win over Alabama A&M in a men’s quarterfinal at the Farmers Insurance SWAC Basketball Tournament.
The Hornets (15-14) advance to Friday’s semifinal vs. #2 Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Alabama A&M’s season ends as 11-15.
Alabama State never trailed in the game and took a 27-18 halftime lead. The Hornets took their largest lead, 51-36 with 6:17 to play on a three-pointer by Sekani Milligen, who came off the bench to score 11 for Alabama State.
Alabama A&M got 13 points from Cornelius Hester and 11 from Bo Amusa.
