F Tanika Jackson, Alabama State; 6-1, JR; Saginaw, MI

Averaging a double-double last week, Jackson registered 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and one blocked shot in two wins for the Lady Hornets. Jackson currently leads the conference with 16 double-double performances this season. This is her third Player of the Week honor.

NEWCOMER

G Secret Anderson, Grambling State; 5-11, JR; Arlington, TX

Anderson averaged 9.0 points 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of games for the Lady Tigers last week. This is Anderson’s second weekly honor of the season. She was named Player of the Week in week six.

MEN
PLAYER

G Terrance Calvin, Univ. Ark-Pine Bluff, 6-2, 195; SR; Clarksdale, MS

Calvin capped off his last home game as a Golden Lion in sterling form, scoring 25 points with six rebounds and five assists in UAPB’s 84-68 victory Thursday night. Calvin was 8-of-11 from the field, making his only three-point attempt, and was 8-of-10 from the line in winning the award for the first time this season.

NEWCOMER

F Lance Fuertado, Grambling St.; 6-5, 205; JR; Long Island, NY

Fuertado averaged 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a pair of games vs. Alabama State and Alabama A&M last week. In his top game of the week, Fuertado recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds vs. Alabama State. This is Fuertado’s second Newcomer of the Week award.

WOMEN

Ashley Brown (G, Miss. Valley St.) – scored 18 points with five rebounds, four assists and eight steals vs. Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Dominique Smith (G, Prairie View A&M) – averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds vs. Southern and Alcorn State

Courtney Larsen (G, Prairie View A&M) – averaged 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists vs. Southern and Alcorn State

Hannah Kador (F, Southern) – averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals vs. Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern

MEN

Tramayne Moorer (F, Alabama St.) – averaged 20.0.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals vs. Grambling St. and Jackson St.

Garrison Johnson (G, Jackson St.) – averaged 22.0 points and 4.0 rebounds vs. Alabama A&M and Alabama St.

Julius Cheeks (G, Miss. Valley St. ) – scored 33 points with two rebounds and two assists vs. Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
