G Dominique Smith, Prairie View A&M; 5-10, SO; Vallejo, CA
Smith averaged 30.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists in a pair of wins for the Lady Panthers last week. Smith scored a season-high 34 points against Alabama A&M on Saturday for her third 30-plus game of the season. Her efforts helped PV snap a three-game losing streak and regain a tied for first place position in the standings.

NEWCOMER
C Gabrielle Rosiji, Texas Southern; 6-3, JR; Tulsa, OK
Rosiji averaged 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists as the Lady Tigers posted two wins last week. With a 25-point, 13-rebound performance against Alabama A&M, Rosiji earned her fourth double-double of the season while tallying her second highest scoring game of the year.

PLAYER

F Garrison Johnson, Jackson State, 6-5, 195; SR; Smyrna, GA
Johnson earns the honor for the fourth time this season after averaging 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists for 2009-10 regular season SWAC Champions in a pair of victories vs. Mississippi Valley State and Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Johnson had game highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday’s 63-51 win over the Delta Devils and then scored 18 points with four rebounds in the title-clinching 57-54 win over UAPB Monday night.
NEWCOMER
F Travele Jones, Texas Southern, 6-8, 205; JR; Los Angeles, CA
Jones wins the honor for the sixth time this year after averaging 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in a pair of games vs. Alabama State and Alabama A&M. In his top game of the week, Jones recorded his third double-double of the season with 21 points, 10 rebounds and added three assists in the 98-57 win over Alabama A&M.

Tanika Jackson (F, Alabama State) – averaged 18.0 points, 16.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals vs. Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M
Phenicia Taylor (G, Jackson State) – averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists vs. Mississippi Valley State and Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Rachel Jones (G, Jackson State) – averaged 14.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.0 rebounds vs. Mississippi Valley State and Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Ka’Neshia Smith (G, Mississippi Valley State) – averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists vs. Jackson State and Grambling State
Hannah Kador (G, Southern) – had 27 points, 12 rebounds and four steals vs. Alcorn State
Jasmine Cannon (G, Texas Southern) – averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 3.5 steals vs. Alabama State and Alabama A&M

Tramaine Butler (G, Alabama State) – averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 3.5 steals vs. Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M
Lance Fuertado (G, Grambling State) – averaged 15.5 points, and 4.5 rebounds vs. Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Miss. Valley State
Julius Cheeks (G, Mississippi Valley State) – averaged 14.0 points and a pair of assists vs. Jackson State and Grambling State
Junior Treasure (G, Texas Southern) – averaged 14.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals vs. Alabama State and Alabama A&M
