BIRMINGHAM – Texas Southern men’s basketball players Junior Treasure and Aaron Clayborn have been suspended one game by the Southwestern Athletic Conference for unsportsmanlike conduct during Saturday’s game vs. Mississippi Valley State. Texas Southern University has also been fined $1,000 ($500 per ejection).
Treasure and Clayborn were each accessed two technical fouls and were ejected in the second half of the Tigers’ 62-44 loss Saturday night. Both players are suspended for tonight’s game at Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference encourages sportsmanship and adherence to all SWAC and NCAA polices. We will continue to enforce these polices to ensure that everyone in our administrative and athletic programs conduct themselves in a manner that brings credit to our member institutions, intercollegiate athletics and the Conference Office.
It’s good to see the conference setting the right tone regarding athletic participants and their conduct.
