– The Texas Southern Lady Tigers headed to Edinburg , Texas looking to capture their first win of the season against UT Pan American. TSU started strong. The game stayed close but the Lady Tigers managed to build a four point lead (15-11) at the 8:39 mark. UTPA went on a 15 to 4 run for a 26-19 advantage with 2:47 left in the first half. The Lady Tigers cut into that lead to end the half down 24-27. Texas Southern continued their comeback run in the second half and tied the game three times before going up 35-33, five minutes into the period. Both teams traded baskets over the next ten minutes before tying the game at 51 with just over four minutes left to play. TSU went ahead on a Jasmine Payne (#20) jumper and they never looked back. The Lady Tigers won on the road, 65-58. NaDosha Strickland (#3) led TSU in scoring with 16 points. She also had four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Inisha Daughtry (#24) had 15 points, seven rebounds and one block. Payne had 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. The Lady Tigers host Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Saturday in the H&PE Arena at 2:00 pm.
