The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils fell to 0-1 on the season as they dropped the season opener 61-0 to the Red Wolves of Arkansas State.
The team was held to just 69 yards of total offense (30 rushing) while being hampered by the Red Wolves running game (358 rush yards).
Johey Hargrett had 10 carries for 22 yards while Paul Cox caught three passes for 15 yards. Carlos Sanchez finished with ten punts for an average of 40.5 yards. Defensively, Armon Williams and DeKcoven Burrell each had eight stops in the game while Reginald Foster tallied seven in the contest.
The Delta Devils will have a bye this week before hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their home opener on September 19.
