Grambling, LA — Grambling State football Head Coach, Rod Broadway, will be the first to tell you that all thoughts of last years Southwestern Athletic Conference and Black College National Championships have been stored away for the winter as 90 Tigers reported for the first day of the 2009 camp with one goal to win a championship.
Broadway, a firm believer of leaving last years championships in the past, has the Tigers hitting the ground running and believing that hard work and preparation now will payoff down the road. But they have to be willing to give it their all now to make it happen.
“Obviously it’s the first day but we have a lot of work to do. I don’t know if we are mentally tough maybe the heat took something out of them,” said Broadway. “We are going to have to have some better efforts; we are going to have to be able to fight through some things.”
The Tigers will open there season September 6th when they face South Carolina State in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Orlando, FL.
