BIRMINGHAM – The Southwestern Athletic Conference is set to host two clinics in the Birmingham area during the month of July.
The Sixth Annual Youth Football clinic will take place Monday, July 20 at Legion Field from 9 a.m. – Noon. The FREE event is slated for Birmingham and Jefferson County youth in grades K – 8. Several SWAC head football coaches will be on hand to facilitate various drills on the fundamentals of football. A free SWAC 2009 football t-shirt and lunch will provided to the first 300 clinic participants. There will also be special SWAC giveaways after the clinic.
On Monday, July 27 the SWAC will partner with the City of Birmingham’s Division of Youth Services, Regions Bank and Lakeshore Foundation to host a Champions clinic from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Lakeshore Foundation recreation and education center.
Also a FREE event, the Champions clinic will feature the sports of basketball and track and field. Instruction for the clinic will be provided by SWAC coaches. Girls and boys ages 9 – 14 are encouraged to attend. Transportation and lunch will be provided for the clinic.
Registration for the Champions clinic must be done through the City of Birmingham’s Division of Youth Services and is limited to the first 75 registrants.
