Prairie View A&M University women’s basketball players Gaati Werema, Candice Thomas and Dominique Smith have been selected by USA Athletes International to represent the United States in the 2009 Vienna Basketball Tournament in Vienna, Austria. The trio will be competing abroad this summer for two weeks from May 28th – June 6.
This is an extraordinary opportunity that will allow the players to compete on the international level while promoting the game of basketball. The players will be able to experience the competition, history and culture of other countries as amateur athletes.

Day 1: Depart from USA for Italy
Day 2: Arrive in Vienna
Day 3: Pentacost Tourney
Day 4: Pentacost Tourney
Day 5: Pentacost Tourney
Day 6: Visit a Convent and a Concentration Camp
Day 7: Visit the Apls and Medieval Castle
Day 8: Transfer to Jesolo with Beach stop
Day 9: Tour Venice with gondola ride
Day 10: Return to USA
