HATTIESBURG, MS – After three days and 13 games, the 2009 SWAC Softball Championship game is set.
Commencing at 12 noon on Sunday, April 26, the title game will see the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State and the Lady Jaguars of Southern University.
The Devilettes came into the tournament as the #1 seed from the East. They have won five consecutive SWAC Championships and will attempt to make it six in row.
The Lady Jaguars entered the tournament as the #1 seed out of the West. This will be the fifth time in the last six years Southern has met Mississippi Valley in the final game. The Lady Jaguars will aim to halt the Devilettes streak while capturing their first title since 2003.
The Championship game will take place at the Timberton Softball Complex. Admission is free for the event.
