BIRMINGHAM – The 2009 SWAC Men’s and Women’s West Tennis Roundup will take place this weekend, March 20-21. Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA will host the two day event.
The Roundup will see action from four SWAC western division teams, including Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Grambling State, Prairie View A&M and Southern University. The women of Southern went undefeated in last month’s East-West Roundup and will try to continue their dominance over the western divisional foes.
Also posting perfect records at the East-West Roundup were the Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Grambling men. They too will be striving for divisional supremacy as the squads are slated to face off on Saturday.
Play will begin each day at 9:00 a.m. On Friday, both the Southern University Courts and the Greenwood BREC Park Courts will hold matches. On Saturday all matches will be played at the Southern University Courts. The schedule is as follows:
