Christopher Jones, Darnell Hugee and Tim Meadows each scored 13 points to lead #3 Prairie View A&M to a 65-60 win over #6 Mississippi Valley State.

Michael Griffin added 11 points off the bench for the Panthers (17-15), who earned their first SWAC Tournament win since 2003.

PV shot 48 percent in the first half (13-of-27) to take a 37-29 lead. The Panthers led most of the way, trailing only 15-14 in the first 20 minutes.  The Panthers held off Valley (13-19) in the second half in a hotly contest game between two teams that split their two regular season meetings.

Valley’s Eric Petty led all players with 18 points with nine rebounds, while Dwayne Harmason added 15 and four assists.
