Williams, a 5-11, 220 lb. native of Richmond, Texas (Foster HS), was named to the 2008 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches All-America 1st team. He is the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in rushing average (103.7 ypg) last season and will join teammate, offensive lineman, Cecil Newton on the East team.
Javarris rushed for over 100 yards in six games in 2008 and had twenty (20) 100 yard games in his career. He finished his career at Tennessee State with 4,329 yards, as the second all-time career rusher and the career leader in rushing touchdowns with forty-two (42). Williams rushed for over 1,000 yards in three consecutive years and set a TSU freshman rushing record of 872 yards in 2005.
Williams, who earned his degree in Computer Business Systems from TSU on December 13, 2008, has also been invited to play in the third annual Texas vs. The Nation All-Star game in El Paso, Texas on January 31, 2009.
