Grambling State and Prairie View A&M finish the year in the Sports Network FCS Top 25. Finishing up the final two spots in the poll were Grambling and Prairie View.
No. 24 Grambling had been unranked in the previous poll and replaced Tennessee-Martin, which finished 26th in the voting. The Tigers beat Southern in the Bayou Classic and then downed Jackson State in the SWAC championship game.
No. 25 Prairie View (9-1) finished the season as a ranked team for the first time in the Sports Network poll. The Panthers earned their first-ever FCS ranking in the final week of the regular season.
