Despite the effects of Hurricane Gustav on the Louisiana Gulf Coast, all activities for the 10th John Merritt Classic are moving full ahead.
Tennessee State University officials have confirmed that Southern University will send their full complement of participants to Nashville as scheduled. With the passing of the hurricane, busses have been cleared to transport the Jaguar football team to Nashville on Thursday, September 4th and the Human Jukebox band will arrive on Friday, September 5th.
Planned activities for the JMC Weekend are as follows:

SATURDAY – September 6th
– 7:30a — JMC 5K Run/Walk (Rosa Parks Boulevard/Watkins Institute)
– 10:00a — Admissions and Records College Fair (Kean Hall)
– 4:00p — Showcase of High School Bands (LP Field/Tiger Town)
– 6:00p — 10th John Merritt Classic – TSU V. SU (LP Field)
– 9:00p — Celebration of Stars After Party (201 Woodland Street/Across from LP Field)
SUNDAY – September 7th
