Alabama A&M, the 2006 defending SWAC Champions, were primed to return to the conference title game in December, 2007 in their quest for back-to-back titles.
However, November was unkind to the Bulldogs, as they lost in overtime at home to Jackson State and ended the season with a loss at Prairie View A&M, ending their championship dreams.   In 2008, you can expect Head Coach Anthony Jones’ Bulldogs to again be in the hunt for the title.  Since 2003, Alabama A&M has the SWAC’s best record at 41-17.

By any measure, it would seem that Alabama A&M head football coach Anthony Jones has built a program that expects success in his six years at the helm of the Bulldogs. In each of those six seasons, A&M has won at least seven games and reached the SWAC Championship Game three times, winning the title in 2006. Entering the 2008 season, the Bulldogs have plenty of reasons to believe the run of success will continue on “The Hill.”
