Two Tennessee State University football players, Cornelius Lewis and Javarris Williams, have been named as The Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America team.
Lewis was named to the first team and Williams was named to the third team.
Lewis, a 6-5, 332, offensive tackle from Jacksonville, FL, is one of the linchpins of the TSU offensive line that led the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing at the end of the 2007 season. He transferred to Tennessee State from Florida State in 2007.
Williams, a 5-10, 220, running back from Richmond, TX, is the top returning rusher in OVC for 2008. He finished the 2007 season with 1,187 rushing and 12 touchdowns. Williams also amassed 1,427 yards in Total Offense. Williams ranks third nationally as the active rusher in the FCS and has fifteen (15) 100+ yard career rushing games. Javarris ranks second on the TSU all-time career rushing list.
Tennessee State opens their 2008 football season on August 30th at Alabama A&M in Normal, AL.
