Could this be the season Prairie View A&M takes the next step to elite status in SWAC football?
In 2007, the Panthers posted a 7-3 record, their first winning season since 1976 and their highest win total since 1964. With 15 returning starters, including SWAC Defensive Player of the Year in LB Zach East, Prairie View A&M is looking to make a serious run at the SWAC title.
The 2008 Prairie View A&M University Panthers football team will look to continue the programs recent trend of success as they get set to compete for a Southwestern Athletic Conference title. Prairie View A&M will feature a veteran ball club with the return of over 45 lettermen. Last season Prairie View A&M completed the regular season with a 7-3 overall record as they just barely missed a bid to participate in the 2007 SWAC Championship game.
