The “Pride is Back†is the overall theme for the 2008 version of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lion football team. With a new head coach prowling the sidelines (former NFL great Monte Coleman), a schedule which features nine instate contests and arguably the top defense in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, hopes are high the Golden Lions will bounce back from last season’s disappointing 4-7 mark.
Record-breaking wide receiver Jason Jones is gone (a free agent with the Buffalo Bills), but the majority of the UAPB offense remains intact. With the signing of several high-profile offensive linemen, offensive coordinator Jonathan Cannon hopes his squad is ready to explode.
