GRAMBLING, La. – After three days of orientation, the Grambling State Tiger football team officially hits the gridiron on Friday morning as the Tigers open fall practice at the Robinson Stadium Support Facility Practice Field.
“We’re looking forward to our first practice on tomorrow,†said second-year head coach Rod Broadway. “I’m excited about the upcoming season as we have a lot of ahead of us in terms of preparation.â€
The Tigers will conduct a total of 29 practice sessions before their 2008 season opener at Nevada on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Reno, Nev. Per the NCAA-mandated acclimation period, the players will work out in shorts Friday and Saturday, shoulder pads and shorts on Monday and Tuesday and full pads beginning on Wednesday. Grambling’s first two-a-day practice is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8.
All practices prior to the beginning of class are tentatively scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
