Itta Bean, Miss. The Mississippi Valley State Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that after an intensive search they have narrowed a field of more than 20 applicants down to three for the head coach position of the Delta Devils men’s basketball program.
In no particular order Dr. Lacey Reynolds, Harvey Wardell and Sean Woods will make their official campus visits June 11th and 12th. Dr. Reynolds, currently employed at Texas Southern where he’s a former men’s basketball assistant is also a former head coach at Grambling State, will visit first on Wednesday at 11:00am.Â
Wardell, an assistant coach at Tougaloo College and former assistant coach at MVSU, will be first on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.; while Woods, a former assistant coach at TCU will round out the group at 1:00 p.m.
The search committee narrowed the highly qualified field down to six and had a phone interview with six the candidates before forwarding the final three to Interim President Roy C. Hudson and Interim Director of Athletics Donald R. Sims.
