Tennessee State University will play a twelve game football schedule in 2008, which includes five contests at home in Nashville at LP Field.
The Tigers’ season will feature their early “Classics†schedule against traditional rivals Jackson State and Florida A&M in Memphis, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia, respectively. This season the Tigers add rival Southern University for the John Merritt Classic in Nashville.
Beginning with an August 30th trip to play at Alabama A&M, TSU plays three straight opponents from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), Southern, and Jackson State to open the season. The Jackson State contest, in Memphis is the Southern Heritage Classic.
In week four, the Tigers travel to OVC opponent Tennessee Martin, before finishing the month of September in Atlanta against traditional Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival Florida A&M, in the Atlanta Classic.
Following an idle first week of October, Tennessee State gets into the heart of their Ohio Valley Conference schedule hosting Eastern Illinois and Austin Peay. The Tigers close out October playing at Southeast Missouri State.
Tennessee State will host Tennessee Tech for Homecoming on November 1st followed by a home game against Eastern Kentucky. TSU will then close out the season with road games at Jacksonville State (AL) and Murray State (KY).
