PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) — Matthew Miller scored 19 points and Sollie Norwood had 18 as Texas Southern defeated rival Prairie View A&M 63-54 on Saturday night. David Burrell added 10 points for Texas Southern (5-18, 4-6 SWAC). Brian Ezeh led Prairie View with 15 points. Derek Johnson had 10 points for the Panthers (5-17, 3-7).
The Panthers outrebounded Texas Southern 48-37. But the Tigers shot 41 percent from the field to 33 percent by Prairie View, including just 26 percent in the second half. Prairie View struggled from beyond the 3-point line, shooting nearly 17 percent for the game, including 0-for-11 in the second half.
Texas Southern led 31-29 at halftime.
