Prairie View A&M held MVSU scoreless thru the first 9:50 of the first half before Mississippi Valley State was able to get on the board with a successful free throw attempt bringing the score to 19-1.
The Lady Panthers led 34-11 at intermission holding MVSU to just 12 percent shooting from the floor. PVAMU shot 43 percent in the first half.
The second half brought more of the same as Mississippi Valley
State was only able to muster 19 points in the second stanza. For the game the Lady Panthers defensive unit only allowed MVSU to shoot 17 percent from the floor. MVSU was out rebounded 49 to 30 and were forced into committing 20 costly turnovers which turned into 19 Lady Panther points.  Prairie View A&M put up 30 points in the paint and 12 second chance points.Candice Thomas added 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field while fellow teammate Gaati Werema chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds.Prairie View A&M will now get set to travel to Alabama to face Alabama A&M and Alabama State. Tip off is set for February 2nd and 4th respectively at 5:30 p.m. on both days.
