pvlogoPRAIRIE VIEW, Texas  — Brian Ezeh scored a game-high 17 points and made two free throws with 8 seconds remaining to lift Prairie View past Mississippi Valley 55-53 on Monday night.

Michael Clark’s two free throws with 32 seconds left had drawn the score even for MVSU at 53-53, but Ezeh was fouled on the ensuing possession to set up the tie-breaking free throws.

MVSU led 34-32 at halftime and held an eight-point margin, 50-42, with nine minutes to play.

Prairie View (5-14, 3-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference) used a 9-1 run over the next eight minutes to take a 53-51 before Clark’s free throws.  Ezeh was the only Prairie View player to score in double figures. Eric Petty led MVSU (5-14, 4-3) with 14 points and Clark added 12.

Prairie View shot 40 percent from the field to 37 percent for MVSU. MVSU outrebounded the Panthers 42-29.  The MVSU bench was issued a technical foul with 50 second left in the game.
