The Southwestern Athletic Conference Women’s Bowling East Round-Up continued today, with Alabama A&M University and Southern University still on top of their respective divisions.
Alabama A&M University leads the Eastern Division with 7-1 conference record. The Bulldogs are 16-3 overall. The Bulldogs bowled a total of 4,385 pins. The Lady Tigers of Jackson State are in second place with a 15-5, 6-1 SWAC record. JSU bowled 4,373 total. Alabama State is still in third place, with a 7-14, 3-6 overall record and knocked down 3,850 pins. Mississippi Valley State won their first game of the season, bringing their record to 1-19,
In the Western Division, Southern University holds a commanding 10-0 division record, 17-3 overall. The Lady Jags bowled a combined total of 4,621 pins. Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern are tied for second place in the conference with a 6-4 SWAC record. The Lady Panthers are 14-7 overall, while The Lady Tigers are 9-11. Grambling State is fourth place with a 9-11 overall record and a 4-7 conference record. GSU bowled a total of 4,242 pins. Arkansas-Pine Bluff is in last place with a 3-17, 0-10 conference record.. The Lady Golden Lions had a combine 3,266 pin total today.
The top three teams from each division will advance to 2008 SWAC Bowling Championship on February 22-24 at the Holiday Bowl Fun Center in Bessemer , Ala
