RALEIGH, N.C.- The Black College Sports Page has announced the selection of Prairie View A&M’s Henry Frazier III as its 2007 Coach of the Year.

Last week Frazier was also announced as the recipient of the College Sporting News Coach of the Year award. This past season Frazier and his coaching staff completed arguably one of the toughest task in all of college football, turning around Prairie View A&M’s football program.

At the conclusion of the season the Panther’s football program has seen media entities and football fans nationwide take notice of the historic accomplishments of the football team.

“We’re very appreciative of all the awards and accolades we’ve received,” said Frazier. “I feel extremely blessed to be apart of the turnaround of PVAMU’s football program.”

Frazier credits the program’s recent success to his players hard work and determination during the off season and throughout the year, as well as a solid core of assistant coaches.

“I have to give a lot of praise and thanks to my coaching staff for the tremendous job they did collectively over the course of the season,” said Frazier. “I feel like we have one of the best coaching staffs in all college football. Our players bought into the things we were trying to teach them and when you have that happen it translates into a lot of success on the football field.”

If the 2007 season was an indication as to what the future holds for Prairie View A&M Panther football, it’s probably a fair assessment that the program will continue its recent trend of marked improvement.
