The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its weekly men’s basketball preseason honors for weeks three and four of the 2007-08 season.
Week Three: Player of the Week
Carl Lucas, F, Mississippi Valley State
6-3, 160, Sr., Hollandale, Miss.
Lucas finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in an 83-69 win over Belhaven. In the first half, he was 8-of-10 from the field ending the period with 17 points and six rebounds and two assists.

Week Four: Player of the Week
Anthony Williams, F, Grambling State
6-7, 207, Sr., East San Jose, Calif
Williams scored 25 points while adding 21 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal at home against Wiley College. During the second half of the contest, he went 6-of-7 from the free throw line as he tallied 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and a block
Week Four: Newcomer of the Week
Jazz Williams, G/F, Southern
6-4, 175, Fr., Pearland, Texas
In the Jaguars’ contest versus Auburn, Williams ended the contest with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Starting at guard for Southern, he had six points, a rebound, an assists and a steal in the first half of the game.
