This probably isn’t news to most of you who frequent this site on a regular basis, but I felt the need to assist in getting the word out about the time change of the Jackson State vs. Grambling game this Saturday in Jackson.
I was surprised by an email I received yesterday asking (1) if it is true that this game is going to be televised live on ESPN Classic and (2) if it is true that the game time changed to 12:00 noon central time?
The answer to both questions is yes, but it simply reaffirmed to me once again that I can’t assume everyone (who follows the SWAC) knows these things. It humbled me to know that people truly do rely on this site for information. Something that I still – after all these years – take for granted. This is the SWAC game of the week.
If you don’t want to take my word for it, here is the official release from the GSU sports information department:
In order to accommodate a nationally televised broadcast on ESPN Classic, the Grambling State – Jackson State football game on Oct. 20 will now be played at noon. The game, which was previously scheduled to kickoff at 3 p.m., will be played at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Jackson State University Athletic Ticket Office at 601-979-2420 or online at www.ticketmaster.com or www.mvms.ms.
Now we get to see which Tiger runs the SWAC jungle. I have a sneaky suspicion that black&gold Tigers trump blue &white Tigers.
You better quit taking this place for granted, we can move this thing into a better light than what you may know.
Who cares about any of them tigers (black or blue)……LOL
