Caught five passes for 160 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jon Johnson, DE, Prairie View A&M (6-0, 240, Sr., Houston, Texas)

Tallied ten tackles (seven solo) along with one tackle for loss, three hurries and a sack.

Newcomer of the Week
Frank Warren, RB, Grambling State (6-0, 185, Fr., Pleasant Grove, Ala.)

Warren finished with 17 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns … averaged 5.4 yards per carry with a long of 32 yards.

Specialist of the Week
Tim Manuel, P/K, Grambling State (5-11, 225, Sr., New Iberia, La.)

Averaged 43.1 yards on seven punts with a long of 51 yards while placing three inside the 20-yard line … also nailed a 45-yard field goal and made three PAT kicks.

Lester Mosley, Alcorn State – nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss
Raymond Webber, Arkansas-Pine Bluff – six receptions, 109 yards, touchdown
Derrick Gray, Texas Southern – seven tackles, pass breakup
Rechard Johnson, Alabama State – 10 tackles (five solo)
Jay Peck, Alabama State – 23 carries, 108 yards, touchdown
