LaQuentin Blair, Virginia Union, JR, RG, 6-4, 260, Dallas, TX
Blair enabled to Virginia Union University Panthers to rush for 241 yards in their victory over Central State University.

Receiver of the Week:
Saadiq Morris, Saint Paul’s, SO, WR, 5-7, 155, Tampa, FL
Morris had 3 receptions for 131 yards with two touchdowns (1-54 yds, 1-65yds) in the Tigers’ 33-32 win over Chowan College.

Offensive Back of the Week:
Michael Terry, Virginia State, SR, QB, 6-1, 200, Charlottesville, VA
Terry had the hottest hand on the VSU team as the senior quarterback connected on 24 of 35 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns. He threw no interceptions on the day. Terry also rushed for another score as VSU downed George Mason University 48-0.

Defensive Lineman of the Week:
Eric Byers, Saint Paul’s, SO, MLB, 6-3, 225, Powhatan, VA
Byers finished the game with 11 total tackles (6 solo, 5 assisted), including 2 tackles for a loss of 6 yards and 1 sack for a loss of 4 yards in the win against Chowan.

Defensive Back of the Week:
Lionel Vincent, Livingstone, Sr, DB, 6-2, 206, Las Vegas, NV
Vincent finished with 15 total tackles – 9 solo and 1 tackle for a loss of 4 yards for the Blue Bears defeat against Catawba College.

Rookie of the Week:
Jean Dessein, Saint Paul’s, QB, 6-3, 205, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Dessein completed 18 of 31 passes for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns to guide the Tigers to victory over Chowan.

Specialty Player of the Week:
Nelson Davalos, Saint Paul’s,  Fr, K/P, 5-7, 187, Hollywood, FL
Davalos had 5 punts for 37.2 average per punt, 3 for 3 on PATs, 2 for 2 FG
(39-yds, 29-yds). The 29-yard field goal won the game with 1 second remaining in the contest.

Coach of the Week:
Willard Bailey, Saint Paul’s College

Coach Bailey led a very young and inexperienced team to its first win of the season under a hostile environment at Chowan College. The Tigers came from behind to defeat Chowan 33-32.
