Brandon Landers, Grambling State (6-0, 200, Jr., QB, Monroe, La.)

In conference action at Alcorn State, Landers completed 19 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns as the Tigers downed the Braves 31-10.

Defensive Player of the Week
Zach East, Prairie View A&M (6-2, 230, Sr., LB, Houston, Texas)

Totaled 13 total stops (nine solo) along with one sack, 2 ½ tackles for loss and a fumble against Texas Southern – a 34-14 win for the Panthers.

Newcomer of the Week
Frank Warren, Grambling State (6-0, 185, Fr., RB, Pleasant Grove, Ala.)

In his first collegiate game, he had 30 carries for 143 yards averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He also caught four passes for 23 yards in the game.

Specialist of the Week
Braddy Faggard, Prairie View A&M (5-8, 170, Fr., K, Humble, Texas)

Went 4-for-4 in PAT opportunities while connecting on two field goals (2-2) including a long of 34 yards in the Panthers victory over Texas Southern.

    I would have liked for Pedro Ventura (PVAMU) to get the specialist honors, this young man was punting his leg off. 7 punts for a 44.9 average and he is currently ranked 6th in the FCS.
