Alabama State head basketball coach Lewis Jackson made a recent appearance on CBS Atlanta’s HBCU Report and spoke about the Hornets chances of winning the SWAC regular season championship and much more.
On possibly overtaking Southern for first place in the conference standings:
“We are just going to take it one game at a time,” Jackson said, whose team is currently 8-4 in league play. “We still have an opportunity to at least get first-place in the regular season.”
About his tenure at Alabama State:
“It’s been a great experience,” he said. “It has truly been a blessing.”
On the competitiveness of the SWAC:
“I think it’s very balanced,” he said. “The conference is on the move. We are going to see the conference take off in a few years.”
